Biography of a Friendship has reached some significant goals. And yet, much has happened since my last post: illness… loss… illness… recovery. I can … I now approach the New Year soulful, grateful, and hopeful.
I have gained a new perspective on the publication of my memoir, Biography of a Friendship. My post, People Read More, written after the 2025 Vancouver International Publishing Conference, confirmed what I have experienced.
Still, as per the ‘trends and themes’ discussed at that conference, it’s difficult to traditionally publish narrative nonfiction such as memoirs and reach an audience.
As an author who is not a public figure, I have reflected on this hurdle. I am grateful that my memoir was traditionally published and hopeful that it will reach a wider audience. I see my glass half full; I met some significant goals.
Biography of a Friendship has fulfilled a promise.
Biography of a Friendship has brought awareness to pancreatic cancer.
Biography of a Friendship has helped more than one reader, a humbling fact.
Even if gratification is not only about sales, publishing a book is, however, my publisher’s business. I am available for book clubs (my gratitude to the West Van Best Book Club for having me in December), book signings, and other roundtable and Zoom discussions.
Thank you for contacting me here.
